    Description

Briggs & Stratton Carburetor 594593 is a replacement carburetor for Briggs & Stratton engines with the following model numbers: 31H777 590400 591731 796078 796109 The carburetor is compatible with engines that have a cylinder capacity from 14.5 to 21 horsepower. It is a float type carburetor with manual choke . To adjust the carburetor mixture on a Briggs & Stratton engine, you will need to locate the idle adjustment screw. This screw is usually located on the side of the carburetor. Gently turn the screw clockwise with a flathead screwdriver until the valve contacts the seat. Next, remove the screw counterclockwise one and a half turns. After you have adjusted the idle adjustment screw, you will need to start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. If the engine idles too high, turn the idle adjustment screw slightly counterclockwise. If the engine idles too low, turn the idle adjustment screw slightly clockwise. Repeat this process until the engine idles at the correct RPM. Here are the steps on how to replace the carburetor on a Briggs & Stratton engine: Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug. Remove the air filter. Disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor. Remove the bolts securing the carburetor to the engine. Carefully remove the carburetor from the engine. Check the carburetor for any damage. If the carburetor is damaged, it will need to be replaced. Install the new carburetor on the engine. Connect the fuel line to the carburetor. Connect the spark plug wire to the spark plug. Install the air filter. Start the engine and check for leaks. If you are not comfortable replacing the carburetor yourself, you can take the engine to a qualified mechanic.
